This report will reflect the movement of the value of transactions and Stock Items for a selected period. This is an important management tool, as Stock Items can be tracked in such a way to determine the best and worst moving stock items. If used correctly, it can assist you with the effective management of your Stock Items as to keep the right quantities and quality of stock on hand to meet your market requirements.

This report lists the opening and closing quantities and details of the Invoices, Credit Notes, Purchase and Supplier Returns documents created on the selected date or dates, and which is updated to the ledger.

Print Stock Movement Summary Reports

To Generate a Stock Movement Summary Report:

1.Click on the Tools  → Old Reports → Stock → Movement Summary menu.

The Stock Movement Options screen is displayed:

2.Send Report to - Select the output method (screen, printer, file, e-mail or fax).

3.Select the following options:

a)Sequence - Select to list the Stock Items according to the Stock Codes, Stock Description, Stock Groups 1 or 2 (Reporting Groups 1 and 2).

The description of Stock Group 1 or 2 you have entered on the Reporting Group Name field on the Stock Groups tab on the Setup → System parameters → Groups menu, may be reflected in this list.

b)From Stock Code ... To - Select the stock code, or a range of stock codes, to include in the report.

c)From Date ... To - Select the start and end date to include in this report.

4.Click on the OK button. The report will be sent to the medium selected in the Send Report to field.

View Stock Movement Summary Reports

An example of the Stock Movements report, reflecting the details, is:

The details in this report are displayed in the following eight (8) columns:

1.Stock Code - This is the selected Stock Item Code or Codes, and the Stock Item description will be displayed as headings.

2.Date - The date is the date when the Document (Invoices, Credit Notes, Purchase and Supplier Returns documents) is generated and updated to the ledger. Any documents of which the dates are within the selected range, which are not yet posted (updated) to the ledger, will not be included in this report.

3.Type - This is the document type (Invoices, Credit Notes, Purchase and Supplier Returns documents). If any stock quantities have been adjusted in the Input → Adjust Stock menu, Adjustments will be displayed.

4.Salesperson - This is the Salesperson which was selected when Invoices and Credit Notes were generated. No details will be displayed for Purchase and Supplier Returns documents.

5.Reference - This is the document number for Invoices, Credit Notes, Purchase and Supplier Returns documents as generated by TurboCASH. If any stock quantities have been adjusted in the Input → Adjust Stock menu, an asterisk (*) will be displayed.

6.Quantity - Purchases and Credit Notes, as well as any adjustments which increases the Stock quantities (stock in) will be displayed as a positive quantity. Invoices and Supplier Returns documents, as well as any adjustments which decreases the Stock quantities (stock out), will be indicated as a negative figure.

7.Cost Price - The total cost price (average or latest cost (cost of sales)) for all the selected stock items on the Invoice, Point-of-Sale Invoice or Credit Note. If it is a Purchase document, or a Supplier Returns document, the Cost Price will be reflected as entered on the documents.

8.Selling Price - This is the total amount of the selected selling prices (selling price 1 /2 / 3) for all the selected stock items on the Invoice, Point-of-Sale Invoice, or Credit Note. If it is a Purchase document, or a Supplier Returns document, the Cost price will be reflected.

These amounts or totals are exclusive of VAT/GST/Sales Tax.

Opening and closing balances for the quantities will be displayed for each of the selected stock items included in this report.
