Import a posted journal

This option allows you to import the transactions from a posted journal in the same Set of Books.

If you need to import posted journals from TurboCASH4 or a different Set of Books in TurboCASH5, you need to:

1.On the Setup ribbon, go to Tools → Export menu (Postedjournals  tab) and create a valid export file in the Set of Books containing that journal.

2.On the Action ribbon, go toJournal  entry - F9:Process and select the Posted journals import option in the Set of Books you need to import the journal.

To import a posted journal:

1.On the Action ribbon, selectJournal  entry (F2).

2.Select a Journal type and click on the Open button. The Journal entry transaction screen for the selected Journal type will be displayed.

3.Click on the F9:Process icon. The Process the journal options screen will be displayed.  

4.Select the Import a posted journal option, and click on the OK button. The Reverse posted journal/document screen is displayed:

5.View the details of the journal to make absolutely sure that it is the correct journal.

To view the details of the transactions in the selected journal, you may:-

Double-click on the selected journal.

On the Details tab, the transactions for the selected journal will be listed. (If you wish to print a list of the transactions in the posted journal, you may click on the Print button to print a Journal type - Posted journal report).

6.If you double-click, or select the Details option on the context menu, the following screen is displayed:

7.All the details of the transactions entered or imported and posted (updated) to the ledger for the selected journal, will be displayed. Check that the selected journal contains the transactions which needs to be reversed or canceled, and click on theJournal  entry tab.

Only those journals for the selected journal type will be listed.

8.Select a journal  and click on the OK button. All the transactions in the selected, posted journal will be imported into the selected journal. An example, is as follows:
