Install TurboCASH5 - Single user

DO NOT Install in PROGRAM (Program Files, Program Files (x86) or Program Data) folders.

If TurboCASH is installed into the Programs directories (folders) (i.e. Program Files, Program Files (x86) or Program Data folders), it may not run properly. It may cause issues to launch TurboCASH, connection and performance issues with Firebird and FlameRobin, etc. The Program directories is a protected directories of the Windows system.

After Installation - Existing Users of older versions of TurboCASH4 need to select the layout files.

Sets of Books on older versions of TurboCASH4, need to reselect the layout files on the Documents setup. Any document layout files set or selected for specific customers / vendors on the Delivery address tab in Edit Customers / Edit Vendors need to be reset.

Layout files does not print when using a Set of Books in TurboCASH451-760 and TurboCASH451-638 if a Set of Books is copied from an older versions of TurboCASH4. The reason for this, is that the layout file names are now translatable via the language files.

The After opening or double-clicking on the TurboCASH5 installation file, similar screens as displayed in this documentation (captured on Windows 10), will be displayed on your system.

The TurboCASH5 Installation process consists of the following basic options:

Need to select to install the following components:

1.Install Firebird http://www.firebirdsql.org Compulsory for first time installations of TurboCASH5:

a)Install Firebird Database Server (Needed to run TurboCASH5 local 1 user only); or;

•This documentation will describe to do a standard installation to run TurboCASH5 locally on one computer for 1 user only.

•Multi-User installation and configuration will be dealt with in separate documentation. (See TurboCASH5 as a multi-user product )

•Multi-user is limited in this edition! You will need to buy a multi-user license.

b)Install Firebird Database Server (Needed to run TurboCASH5 on a server or client) - (Optional).

2.Install FlameRobin SQL Browser Type (Database Admin Software) http://www.flamerobin.org (Optional).

The FlameRobin software is used to browse, check and edit data. The installation of FlameRobin is optional and is not required to run TurboCASH5. The use of FlameRobin is not recommended for users which have insufficient knowledge and expertise.

To Install TurboCASH5 Single-User:

1.Once the TurboCASH5 installation file is downloaded, select the file and open it. The "Welcome to the TurboCASH5 Setup Wizard" screen is displayed:

2.Click on the Next button. The "License Agreement" screen will be displayed.

3.Please read the agreement carefully. If you agree with the terms and conditions of the license agreement, select the “I accept the agreement” option and click on the Next button. The "Select Destination Location" screen is displayed:

The default path is TCASH5 on your system's default drive, (e.g. C:/TCASH5).

You may click on the Browse button to select any other folder than the default path where you wish to install TurboCASH5 on the Browse for Folder screen.

DO NOT Install in PROGRAM (Program Files, Program Files (x86) or Program Data) folders.

5.Once finished, click on the Next button. The "Select Components" screen is displayed:

6.A list of the components will be displayed. Select or deselect (remove the tick) for the following options, if necessary:

a)Install Firebird Database Server (Needed to run TurboCASH5 local 1 user only) - If you are installing TurboCASH5 for the first time, you need to make sure that this option is selected.

Select this option if you need to run TurboCASH5 locally for 1 user only.

b)Install Firebird Database Server (Needed to run TurboCASH5 on a server or client).

For the purpose of the single-user installation, do not select this option.

c)Install FlameRobin SQL Browser Type - (Optional) - This will install the FlameRobin Database Admin software to manage your TurboCASH5 databases (Sets of Books).

For the purpose of the single-user installation, do not select this option.

7.Once finished, selecting the components to be installed, click on the Next button. The "Select Start Menu Folder" screen is displayed:

8.The default name for the Start Menu Folder is TurboCASH5.

You may over type this with your own description, if necessary. This will create an item on the Start → Programs menu list with items TurboCASH5, Uninstall TurboCASH5 on your Windows™ Taskbar.

DO NOT select PROGRAM (Program Files, Program Files (x86) or Program Data) folders.

9.Once finished, click on the Next button. The "Select Additional Tasks" screen is displayed:

10.By default no options are selected. Select the following options, if you wish them to be installed:

a)Create desktop icon - This will create an icon on your desktop from where you may start or launch the TurboCASH5 program.

b)Create Quick Launch icon - This will create an icon on your Quick Launch Toolbar on your Windows™ Taskbar. You may then start or launch the TurboCASH5 program directly from the Quick Launch Toolbar.

If you do not select any of these options, the Uninstall TurboCASH4 menu item will not be listed in the Start → Programs → TurboCASH5-US Windows menu list.

Should you wish to Uninstall TurboCASH5-US, you need to select the Uninstall.exe in the TCASH5 directory (using Windows Explorer) or uninstall it from the Uninstall command (menu) in the Add / Remove Programs in Windows XP (or Programs and Features in the Windows Vista).

11.Once finished, click on the Next button. The "Ready to Install" screen is displayed:

12.Please check the following selections to be installed:

a)Destination location

b)Setup type

c)Selected components

d)Start Menu folder

e)Additional tasks (icons)

This is your last chance to change anything to be installed. If you are not satisfied with your selection, click on the Back buttons to select or deselect the necessary options.

13.Click on the Install button. The TurboCASH5 installation process will start.

Overwrite confirmation message:

A confirmation message will be displayed if you have installed TurboCASH5 over an existing (previous) TurboCASH installation. If you have worked (changed or added data) to the Set of Books (with the same Name as installed) and wish to retain the existing Set of Books, click No to retain your existing data. The Set of Books will not be replaced by the installation.

If you click on the Yes button, the Set of Books will be replaced with the Set of Books in this installation.

14.Once the TurboCASH5 installation process is finished, the "Completing the TurboCASH5 Setup Wizard" screen is displayed:

The following Components will not be listed, if it was not selected in the "Select Components" screen:

•Install Firebird

•Install FlameRobin SQL Browser Type

Should you wish to install these components at a later stage, you may run the Firebird.exe and / or flamerobin.exe from the TurboCASH installation directory.

15.Please select or deselect (remove the tick) to Launch TurboCASH5 - If this option is selected (ticked), the TurboCASH5 program will automatically be launched.

If you do not select this option, you may then launch or start TurboCASH5 from the following options (if selected or where specified): -

•Desktop icon.

•Quick Launch icon (on the Quick Launch Toolbar on your Windows™ Taskbar).

•Start → Programs → TurboCASH5 menu from the Windows™ Taskbar.

16.Once finished selecting or deselecting the necessary options, click on the Finish button. The TurboCASH program will be started if you did not remove the tick on the Launch TurboCASH5 option.
