View Documents on Screen in the FastReport Viewer

If you have selected to Send a document to the screen on the Document Selection screen, Input→Documents→Print menu option, Documents tab of the Edit→Accounts→Debtor (Invoices, Credit Notes and Quotes) and Edit→Accounts→Creditor (Purchase, Supplier Returns documents and Orders) menu options and you click on the Print button, the document will be displayed in the FastReport Preview screen.

Note - You may also set the Reports to be Send to the screen in the Setup→System Parameters→Company Info (Options tab) menu option.


Note - Any other reports and / or lists generated in the Reports menu and if the Screen option in the Send Report To field is selected, will be displayed on screen in the FastReport Preview screen.

Speedbuttons (Icons) for FastReport Viewer

On the top of the document generated on your screen, a row of icons or command speed buttons (icons) are displayed. At the bottom of the screen, the number of pages of the document, as well as the page currently being displayed on your screen, is shown.

The following speed buttons (icons) may be used to print, save the document to a file, or to navigate through the document on the screen:

  1. Scale icon - The default zoom or size for documents on screen is 100% when you first preview a document on this screen. You may select one of the available options when you click on this Scale icon.

    Tip - You may also right-click on any area of the document preview to access this context menu.
    Once an option is selected, every document will be previewed in the selected size, until you select another option.
  2. Open report icon - Open a document, which has already been saved in the FastReport file format as a *.frf file type.
  3. Save report icon - Save a document in the FastReport file format as a fast report (*.frp) file type. You may also save the documents in the following file formats:
    • Adobe Acrobat PDF (*.pdf)
    • ASCII Text File (*.txt)
    • Rich Text file (*.rtf)
    • CSV file (*.csv)
    • HTML file (*.htm)
  4. Print report icon - Print will launch the following Print screen:

    Your system’s default Printer will be displayed. You may set the following, if necessary:
    • Select a Printer - Click on the drop-down list to select another available printer on the list.
    • Set the Properties of the Printer - Click on the Properties button to set the paper size, print quality and other settings for the selected printer.
      Note - The Properties options may differ from Printer to Printer. If you have any difficulties, please consult the User manual for the selected Printer.
    • Specify the number of copies to be printed, if more than one copy of the document needs to be printed.
    • Set the page range - All is the default. If the document is longer than one page, you may select the current page or enter a specific page number.
  5. Find text icon - Find text will launch the following Find text screen:

    Enter the text you need to find or locate in the document. You may select the case sensitive option and whether to start on the first page or the current page (if the document is longer than one page).
  6. Show help icon - Click on this button to launch the FastReport Help system. This will launch the default topic for the area of the screen.

  7. Close preview icon - Close or exit the FastReport Viewer.

Note - If the Till Slip paper type is selected, the Point-of-Sale Invoice cannot be printed to the screen, but will be printed to the selected printer as configured on the Setup→System Parameters→Point-of-Sale (Printer tab) menu option.
