Save Documents to File

If you have selected to Send a document to the file on the Document Selection screen Input→Documents→Print menu option, Documents tab of the Edit→Accounts→Debtor (Invoices, Credit Notes and Quotes) and Edit→Accounts→Creditor (Purchase, Supplier Returns documents and Orders) menu options and you click on the Print button, you may save the document to a file.


Note - You may also set the Reports to be Send to a File in the Setup→System Parameters→Company Info (Options tab) menu option.


Tip - If you need to save a document in the FastReport *.frp or the Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF (*.pdf) file formats, you need to first Send the document to the Screen and then Save the document from the FastReport Print Preview screen.

Should you need to save the document in a Spreadsheet (e.g. Excel (*.xls) format, you need to save Send the document to a File, and save it from the TurboCASH Export Report screen.


To Save a Document to a File:

  1. Select the File option in the Send Report To field on the Document Selection screen, the Print Documents screen, or the Documents tab of the Edit→Accounts→Debtor (Invoices, Credit Notes and Quotes) and Edit→Accounts→Creditor (Purchase, Supplier Returns documents and Orders) menu options, if not already displayed.
  2. Click on the Print button. The TurboCASH Export Report screen is displayed:
    Save Documents to File
  3. Select a valid directory or folder on your system in which to save the file.
  4. Select the File Type in which you wish to save the exported file.
  5. Enter the name of the file.
  6. Click on the Save button.
  7. The following printing progress screen is displayed:

    Note - If the report or document was Send to the screen, click on the Close icon to exit or close the Print Preview screen.

File Types to Save Documents

The following file types or formats are available in which to save your document:

  • HTML (Hypertext Mark-up Language) (*.htm)
  • Text (*.txt)
  • Comma Separate Value (*.csv)
  • Rich Text (*.rtf)
  • Microsoft Excel™ (*.xls)
  • Windows Metafile (*.wmf)

Note - You may also have other available file types or formats on your system, depending on other software that you have installed, such as Lotus, OpenOffice.org, etc.

File Types to Save Documents on FastReport Viewer Screen

If the Document was Send to the screen, click on the Save report icon on the FastReport Preview screen. The Save As screen (similar to the TurboCASH Export Report screen) will be displayed.

The following file types or formats are available to save your report in:

  • Report file (FastReport) (*.frp)
  • Adobe Acrobat PDF (*.pdf)
  • ASCII Text file (*.txt)
  • Rich Text (*.rtf)
  • Comma Separate Value (*.csv)
  • HTML (Hypertext Mark-up Language) (*.htm)
