My News year's resolution is to manage
the TurboCASH Community better. This is to create a more inclusive
community that gives greater opportunities for users, consultants,
developers and investors.
Managing
Open Source projects I found this video, by two contributors
to the SVN project particularly informative. If participating in
TurboCASH is of interest to you, then the comments about management
of an Open Source project are really interesting. I particularly
like:
The Bus Factor – How many
people have to get hit by a bus before the project is in the Poo?
Standards – How sticking to a
common standard is more important that the egos of the contributors.
Open Communications – By
using common, open forums, Issues are publically maintained.
Documented Plan – As personnel
on a project change, you need a archive to prevent the same issues
being addressed again and again.
Poisson People – How certain
people , no matter how well meaning they are, can derail a project.
Newcommers – Be kind to New
commers, you can't tell by first impressions who the really valuable
contributors will be in the future.
Branches – Be friendly to
branches, they are a source of innovation.
I have opened a forum
topic if you have suggestions
